A Dream Realized

I did everything like normal. Heard the alarm's shrill scream. Danced with the snooze button aching for just five more minutes of care-free unconsciousness. Finally tore myself from bed and stumbled towards the bathroom. I took a shower with my self-proclaimed "refreshing" body wash to clean the final cobwebs of night from my body. I carefully thumbed through my heavily-starched dress shirts and took a moment to match the right tie. Sometime during this process I flipped on the coffee pot and and prepared my personal gasoline for the day. Locking the door and walking to my car i was awake. Only, i realized i had never really waken up; I was just beginning to live the dream.....

All day i watched myself from somewhere behind my mind run on auto pilot. Same words from my mouth selling promises. Same courteous insincere compliments adults share with each other in the name of civility. Moments sprinkled with unexpected laughter and pleasant surprises. But as the day waned on I began to notice a change. An electric anticipation soaked everything from the sunlight to words falling from my lips. The vibrancy of sounds, light, touch, and emotional sensitivity slowly increased until i could no longer tell reality from this mystic experience. The dream was growing stronger....

And as each minute passed, coloring the territories represented by the stars swinging from their state and school building, the dream grew stronger ...

As each hour passed and each vote was cast weighed down with hope, worry, trust, and yes change, the dream grew stronger....

I gathered with my family, better known as my past, present, and future and watch the numbers grow until a there was a pause; and then the whole world was dreaming.....

And then i realized the dream would not stop, with god's personal protection, for at least the next four years. That the world finally had a star that we could all look to and realize that we were all on this same Earth, that we were all on this same, small Earth. Some of us had to come down from our pedestals and others had to step up onto them but finally we are all on the same eye level. We can all see the same thing. We are all having the same dream. My prayer is that we all wake up together as well.

God Save the President.
God Save the World.
Thank You America for Changing The World......even if its just mine.
